The Muscle Car Era began shortly after World War II when prosperity, good roads and cheap gasoline brought about the demand for faster vehicles. Manufacturers met that demand by simply putting big engines in their smallest, lightest vehicles, such as the Chevrolet Camaro and Ford Mustang. The Muscle Car Era lasted until the early 1970s when the United States adopted the Clean Air Act, which resulted in dramatically reducing engine horsepower. There are hundreds of muscle cars and trucks listed for sale on AntiqueCar.com every year and these are some of our favorites.
