- Use quotation marks to search for specific word patterns. For example, a search for "orange and black interior" will result with all listings that contain "orange and black interior"s, but will not reveal listing that contain "black and orange interior"s. This is a useful tool for searching the Internet for copies of ads.
- Eliminate unwanted results. You can exclude specific words from your search by preceding them with a minus sign. For example, putting a minus in a search for 1957 chevy -black will find all ads that contain 1957 chevy but do not contain the word black. Be careful because if your intent is to eliminate all black cars you will also eliminate all red cars with black upholstery! In that case you might try searching for 1957 chevy -"black paint"
- Group your search terms You can generate compound searches by grouping your terms with parenthesis. For example, a search for 1957 chevy (nomad, malibu, coupe) -"hot rod" will reveal all ads for 1957 chevys that contain the words nomad, malibu or coupe but do not mention the word hot rod.
