White Logo The White brothers were building semi trucks in the 1920s and over the years they bought and sold many companies. They owned Sterling Trucks, Autocar Trucks, Diamond T Trucks, and REO Trucks. White held the Autocar brand but made Diamond T and REO separate division until the 1960s. White also built trucks for Freightliner. The Volvo Group bought out White in 1981 and continued to build trucks under the White, Western Star, and Autocar names. The Volvo Group was building trucks under the Volvo Trucks, White GMC, and Autocar names in the 1990s. In 1997 the Volvo Group dropped the WhiteGMC logo and sold Autocar. There are only about 150 out of the original 10,000 White trucks known to exist today. |
