Freightliner Logo Freightliner Trucks originated as Consolidated Freightways trucks in 1942 and were co-branded "White-Freightliner" in 1951 to improve distribution. In the 1974 Consolidated Freightways took advantage White's need for capital by canceling their agreement and signing up many of the White dealers to market their Freightliner trucks independently. In 1981 Consolidated Freightways sold it manufacturing business to Daimler-Benz so they could focus on the trucking business. Consolidated Freightways closed their doors in 2002. |
