Flanders CompanyHistory (Continued from top) Flanders Company Logo Walter Flanders started at Ford, designing the production line for the Ford Model T, and left in 1908 to start the "E-M-F Automobile Company" with Bernard Everitt and William Metzger. Their plan was to sell cars cheaper than Ford but never quite made it and the Studebaker brothers, who were major stockholders, took over in 1912. In 1909 Everitt and Metzger quit E-M-F to manufacturer a new car and Flanders came aboard soon after. The company was named the Flanders Motor Company in 1912 however Flanders left to work at the United States Motors Company after only a few cars were made. |
