DeLorean DMC-12 DeLorean spent two years developing the first car in 1981 in Northern Ireland. However they had a lot of problems and the cars had to be modified further when they reached the United States. The car was sold without a warranty. The next year's model was much better and they tried to boost sales by offing a five year/50,000 mile warranty, but it was too late. The stainless steel body on the DeLorean got mixed reviews and the high price limited the market so production stopped in 1982. DeLorean investors lost more than $100 million dollars. |
