Toyota History: Toyota Motor Corporation was founded in 1933 by Kiichiro Toyoda. They produced their first Engine in 1934 and started producing cars in 1935. During World War II Toyota produced trucks for the Imperial Army and resumed sales to the public in 1947. Toyota entered the American market in 1950 with the Toyota Corolla. Toyota now has factories in 20 countries and is the largest automobile company in the world. Toyota's primary Japanese competitors are Nissan, Honda and Mazda.
