Plymouth History (Continued from top)
Plymouth Logo Plymouth started as a Chrysler Corporation brand in 1928 and ended a DaimlerChrysler product in 2001. It was marketed as a mid-level vehicle but was never very successful. The Valiant and Duster were popular compact models in the 1970s but by 1979 the Volare and Horizon were all that was left. Chrysler had plans to expand the Plymouth line with the Prowler and PT Cruiser but when Daimler-Benz (Mercedes-Benz) took over in 1998 they decided to phase out Plymouth and those models, as well as Voyager, became Chrysler products in 2001. |
