Description

1987 Mercedes -Benz 560sec
This beautiful car resides in Las Vegas, and is Smoked Silver exterior with a rare Brazil Brown leather interior. All of the power windows work, as well as the sunroof, which tilts and opens. Carfax records show that the air compressor was replaced in 2004, and Freon may just need a re-charge. We purchased it from a seller in February who spent approximately 2500 dollars on new parts, however could not continue the upkeep financially. We don't have room at our townhouse for this vehicle, and need to part with it. The engine is very strong, and the vehicle starts right up and can be driven now. New tires would be recommended and although I replaced the wipers which are new Bosch, the wiper reservoir has a leak, and will need to be replaced. Parts are readily available for this make and model, which is a plus. There is a chunk missing from the driver's seat bolster, which is fairly common on these as well as other leather interiors, and the passenger seat has a couple of seam separations. A good upholsterer can fix this. The arm rest has some cracks, which can also be professionally attended to. The rear bench is virtually spotless, as if never used, which is also very common in these gorgeous coupes. It has 264,000 miles, but the carfax records show that the vehicle has been well maintained with proper service at reputable garages for most of it's life. There is no rust on the car. There is a very slight lifting on one end of the trunk lid, where the hinge is, which the previous owner who we purchased it from did. It's barely noticeable but I have to mention it so that you know exactly what you will be receiving. The mechanic who worked on the vehicle in September, October and November of last year believes that the hinge needs to be replaced. You may drive it as is, or fix it. It does not appear to have had a major accident, however we have not purchased a complete carfax as yet. The information I'm giving is from the last mechanic who did many things to the vehicle, including a new EHA valve, fuel filter, Fuel pressure regulator, spark plug/wire set, cap and rotor, idle air control valve. The previous owner broke the key in the ignition and there is a new ignition housing. The new key does not work for the doors or trunk. With a clean and clear title in your name, Mercedes will make a new door key for $50, which I will do if the car does not sell. This car is garage kept, but previous owners appear to have left it out, because there is some evidence of missing clear coat on the driver's side front panel, along the rim, next to the hood. It could use TLC. For it's age, the car appears in very good condition externally. No major dents. It shows as very clean and beautiful. A buff job would enhance remarkably. We do not have the skills for this as private owners. Any questions please don't hesitate to contact at 702-477-5598. This SEC would flourish with an owner that has the passion and resources to make some small fixes. It's a timeless, valuable part of history. Once these are gone, they are gone.
