1933 Ford Tudor Model 40
1933 Ford Tudor Model 40 Street Rod
WAS: US$72,950 - NOW US$67,950!
Flawless… Laser-straight… and Amazing Flames by the legendary Pete "Hotdog" Finlin!
This is the perfect example of combining the styling and components of a traditional hot rod with modern technology and performance. It was the love of the Art Deco Era that begins with the swooping hand-made Dan Fink polished stainless steel show grill tucked between those curvaceous fenders and those 30’s gangster-style ‘suicide’ doors that inspired the owner to design and then consign the build of this incredible offering.
The intention was to create a car that not only looked amazing, but would be a driver, with all the comfort of a modern vehicle, the look and feel of a hotrod, and blending old-school nostalgia with modern technology. The challenge was to bring together a timeless, yet dazzling, exterior with modern touches and a relaxing, nostalgic and functional interior. The result is a balanced, eye-popping street rod where the exterior flows timelessly into the interior with strict attention to every detail in fit, finish and function. All of this, combined with an upgraded port fuel injected GM Performance 350 RamJet engine and 700-R4/BandM transmission gets you a whopping 450 HP with an ‘amazing’ 26 MPG on pump-gas! This multiple award winning '33 Tudor captures the attention of judges and the public each and every time it is entered into an event. If going to car shows is your thing, then make room for the trophies… you’ll be spending a lot of time in the winner’s circle!
• The Redneck Street Rods body has been worked to laser-straight (and correct) perfection. Of particular mention… the Redneck product is known throughout the street rod builder industry as the best-of-the-best, the Rolls Royce of the industry, with unprecedented structural integrity over all other composite street rod bodies.
The remarkable finish is the result of 6 coats of PPG "triple-coat black" (the deepest, darkest black on the planet… not that watered down stuff) with House of Kolor 4-color blend eye-popping ‘pearl’ flames (Sunrise; Tangelo; Ultra-Orange; Magenta, and Razberry) with vibrant blue outlines, topped with 6 coats of PPG clear-coat, color sanded and polished to amazing perfection. Only an artist with the flair of Pete "Hotdog" Finlin could lay down those stunning vibrant flames with the flowing overlaps and shadows that look as though they are virtually floating above the car.
Body refinements include a 2 1/4" chop with filled and ribbed roof, shaved door handles, Rolls Royce hidden ‘slider’ hinges, Bob Drake reproduction “rubber-on-steel” running boards, recessed license plate mount, filled drip channels, 4-inch recessed smooth firewall, smooth (triple-insulated) flat floor, 3-piece Rootlieb steel hood with Hagen Street Rods 3-way hinge set (lift right, left, or remove).
• Interior: Rear seat has been moved forward to accommodate an incredible sound system (double amps and 12-inch subwoofer). Other appointments include: power windows, power door release (driver and passenger sides) with remote key-pad, custom 4-inch dash extender, custom center console, Vintage Super Cooler AC system with 4 adjustable dash vents and 2 defrosters vents, dual windshield wipers with dual motors, and custom high-end charcoal gray leather throughout. The luxurious interior features "Teas Design" leather split bench front seats, leather bench fold-down rear seat, custom leather door panels, custom leather rear side panels, custom leather kick panels (with speaker pods) and custom leather package tray (lots of leather)! The Billet Specialties (two-piece) steering wheel rests atop the chrome Ididit tilt column. Lokar products are used throughout and include the emergency brake, shifter, pedals, dash knobs, throttle cable, and more. Custom Bentley carpeting fills the floor area with cut-to-fit matching front floor mats (for those special events). The sound system features an Alpine face with CD player; 6 Infinity speakers; 1 Infinity 12-inch sub-woofer, and 2 Audiobahn amps. Black-face Auto Meter gauges are lined up across the clean dash for easy visibility.
• Engine and Driveline: The GM Performance Parts 350 RamJet crate engine has been advanced to 450 HP by way of the Comp Cams High-Lift Roller Kit (includes heavy-duty springs and pushrods), new programmable GM computer and custom harness (courtesy of Street and Performance). With exception of the engine block, everything under the hood is custom and chrome plated (courtesy of Street and Performance). The aluminized exhaust system includes: block-hugger headers, 3 ½ inch electric cutouts, and Flowmaster Mufflers with Magnaflow tips nicely centered out back. Backing the engine is a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, an upgraded torque converter, and BandM shift kit.
The foundation starts with a completely customized TCI show-grade chassis with polished stainless steel and chrome package. The frame rails and cross members are powder coated black. Suspension components include: custom independent front suspension with stainless steel A-arms, stainless spindles, stainless rotor back plates, upgraded extra-heavy-duty rack and pinion, custom 11" Wilwood disc show brake system, stainless steel rear parallel 4-link kit, panhard bar, anti-roll bar, All American adjustable coil over shocks (front and rear), Ford 9" differential with US Gear "Pro-Street" 3:70:1 gears and posi-traction.
Keeping everything cool is the job of the heavy-duty Griffin radiator with transmission cooler and dual electric fans (with override switch). Fuel arrives from the 12-gallon stainless steel fuel tank with an internal electronic continuous metered pump system.
• Wheels and Tires: Boyd Coddington "Smoothie-1" - Rear 17x8 (255/60/17) - Front 15x6 (185/60/15).
NOTE: the front wheels were the first set of 15-inch Smoothie-1’s manufactured by Boyd and were personally sent by Boyd’ to the builder, three months before being released for public distribution.
