************************REDUCED***********************86 Firebird with Trans Am package, originally was a 6 cylinder car. When I purchased the car it had already been converted to a V-8 that came out of a 1990 Firebird with about 60,000 miles on it. The prior owner had another 86 Firebird Trans Am that he used as a donor and swapped the T/A parts on to this Firebird. The body and under carriage on this car are rock solid. The paint is faded a little bit and appears it was touched up at one time. Note: a couple of dings in the hood and the front bumper has a scuff near the right front lamp. The interior is in very good shape, dash is very nice, drivers seat is torn on the side near the seat belt. Both front seats have a couple of very small burn holes. The rear seats are perfect and the headliner is very nice and dosn't sag. The door panels are also in great condition. The V-8 is a 305 C.I./5.0 Litre. I replaced the intake with an Edelbrock Performer and matching carburator. It also has headers. New engine parts also include; High Perf. ignition wires, Split Fire spark plugs, Alternator,Water Pump, Thermostat, Fuel Pump, AIr Filter/Fuel Filter. The Transmission is a 700R 4-Speed Auto and shifts firm and strong. The steering linkage is new along with an alignment. 4 Brand new Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 White letter tires on pit free T/A wheels including all center caps. The under carriage/floor is still the blue body color, the doors and door sill seams are original rust free as well as the fenders,quarter panels and liftgate. NO BUBBLES,NO FILLER.
This car is driven often,it could use a little T.L.C. The speedometer/odometer are inop.(reads about 156,000 miles) *True Miles Not Known. All other gauges are in working order; fuel gauge, temp. guage, oil pressure, battery volts, tachometer and all read in normal operating spec. The exhaust is not very loud even with the headers. The cat. convertor became restricted so I have removed it and installed a test pipe to confirm the proper back pressure. It will need convertor to pass most state inspections. This car has tons of potential. It's not a race car but runs strong. It's fun to drive and gets lots of looks at cruise night. With the recent announcement that Pontiac has already stopped production of most models, this 3rd generation Firebird is already in classic status and is becoming hard to find. I have lost my storage space and will regret when it is gone.
