    Description
A 1959 Classic Chevrolet Corvette Convertible for sale. This classic car is completely rust free and has it's original matching # 283cid/270HP 2 x 4 barrels V8 engine with only some 93K original and mostly documented miles and complete with original owner's manual and original hard top! Finished in Corvette correct 'Roman Red' from it's original factory 'Classic Cream' color paint with black interior and a white convertible soft top. Purchased in 1993 by most recent and only third southern California owner with only 78,125 original miles from the second southern California owner who lived in Woodland Hills, California and who had stated that he had purchased the car from the original southern California owner in 1984 with only 31,043 original miles. The car had been primarily serviced by him at 'Doug's Corvette Service' of North Hollywood, California and there are comprehensive service records available from the years 1984-1993. He told the most recent owner at the time of purchase that the original owner had been an attorney living in the San Bernadino area of Los Angeles, California. The most recent and third owner primarily always serviced the car at either 'Santa Monica Chevrolet', of Santa Monica, California and 'La Brea Chevrolet' of Los Angeles, California and there are comprehensive service records available since his time of purchase in 1993. Literally thousands and thousands of documented dollars spent in preventative maintenance on this cherished car! He also kept gas receipts and all his annual registrations, as had the second owner. The third owner professionally repainted the car in 'Roman Red' and had the bumpers re-chromed around the time of his purchase at the renown 'Auto Body Master's Inc.,' of Culver City, California and the body shop for the 'Mike Miller Import Group' of Los Angeles and the direct repair facility of the 'Auto Club' and '21st Century Insurance'. Please note that the original air cleaner for the car is available and pictured below. We understand that the original factory options of the car included: original 'Wonder Bar Radio', courtesy light, windshield washers, sunshades, whitewall tires, auxiliary hardtop, optional 270HP/283 ci enginewith 2x4 carb, 4 speed manual transmission and metallic brakes and that there was a total production of only 1,846 283CID/270HP (2x4 carb) engines and only 4,175 with 4 speed manual transmission cars built. The engine number is F127CU which would be correct for the car. The floor boards, trunk and all the typical rust-prone areas are completely solid and rust-free and the car has had no signs of any accidents - obviously an always garaged and cherished car since new! The car looks extremely impressive in it's repainted 'Roman Red' color paint and there are photos of the car before it was painted in it's original 'Classic Cream' color paint which will be provided in the sale. The matching interior is in exceptional original condition with only very minor imperfections noticeable upon close inspection; in particular there is a small paint nick in the door jam on the passenger side door (see photos below)! All the chromework is also in very good condition and the original spare wheel with it's jack is in the trunk. The original matching # 283/270HP (CU code) engine is extremely strong and powerful and this particular car drives absolutely magnificently - must be driven to be believed - drives straight as an arrow with no strange road wobbles, shakes or rattles - a truly remarkable daily driver that will give any modern day sports car a run for it's money! The transmission shifts smoothly through all the gears and the temperature always remains cool! This is a rare opportunity to own a great daily driving and never abused example of an always garaged and rust free 1959 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster in very fine condition throughout with it's highly desirable original matching number rare 283CID/270HP 2x4 barrel engine with only 93K original miles! Although obviously not a concourse example, this remains a very rare and highly desirable and collectible unabused example of one of the outstanding GM designs of the fifties, the 1958-60 Corvette was a bulkier extension of the 1956-57 design with rather more ornate styling based on previous themes - Road and Track described the 1959 Corvette as 'A pretty package with all the speed you need and then some!' With this matching # engine, both tops, twin 4 bbl carbs and a 4 speed manual transmission, this is one very desirable car for any Corvette enthusiast to own or simply a wonderful opportunity for any classic American car collector who desires to own a very honest and unabused example of this legendary car! A sure-fire investment that's sure to appreciate over the years for any classic American car collector!VIN: J59S104850
