Original 1995 Land Rover RangeRover Short-Wheelbase COUNTY Edition. This was the last year of the Classic body style. 153K original miles, mostly freeway mileage as this has been our beloved traveller for the last few years. We have owned it since 2006; my father-in-law owning it before us. We are in the process of purchasing a new home ( albeit with a 2-car garage only, and my husband's old Jaguar MKII gets the extra space; the wife (me!)gets the other), and we must reluctantly sell it. It has been reliable and very comfortable to travel with, specially with the Safari Package, allowing for lots of extra room inside. It is fairly original, with the standard running gear, aside from normal replacement of wear-and-tear items such as tires, belts, brakes, alternator, battery, etc. The stock 3.9L engine is peppy yet still provided us a SOLID 20 MPG on the freeway. My husband also kept it tuned well ( Full tune-up of distributor cap, rotor, fuel filters ( both tank and line), air filter and BOSCH plugs) having tune-ups done every year, along with Pre-summer full servicing yearly to include: * Oil Change *Transmission Service ( including screen) * Antifreeze drain, flush and refill * Brake system flush and refill with Blue ATE DOT-4 fluid * Transfer cases drained and refilled with REDLINE * Differential drained and filled with ATE High temp * A/C Recharged with upgraded R-34 This Range Rover has the full basket-type luggage/ cargo rack, which holds an immense amount of cargo. We usually put a second spare tire and four bags up top, freeing most of the interior. It also has the newer-style side steps, FULL wrap-around front brushguard with headlight guards, as well as rear tailight guards. It has HELLA 500s auxiliary lights on the front of the rack, HELLA 1000s in front as foglights, and HELLA 550s as auxiliary driving lights, mounted on the factory front spoiler. Additionally, it has HELLA H4 headlights. BOTH rear tailights are PERFECT, with no chips or fading. Our RangeRover also has both front and rear chrome bumpers in EXCELLENT condition, with NO pitting or scratches on the chrome. It also came equipped with the factory Tow-package, although we have never towed anything. Some of the usual items replaced include a new AC/Delco HD battery, new brakes, master cylinder, alternator and hubs within the last two years. The suspension works GREAT, having gotten rid of the nighmarish Air-adjustable suspension ( after replacing bellows twice, once in the middle of Virginia) and having been converted to normal coil spring suspension. The ride is great, very smooth, even better with the nice MICHELIN Synchro Radial tyres on it. The tyres have at least 80% of thread left, mounted on the factory Land Rover alloy wheels. The body of this Rover is 100% RUST FREE, as in ZERO rust. The body panels, doors, tailgate, tailgate hinges, tailgate support mounts, trunk floor, hood, hood hinge area, engine bay, chassis, underside, doors, door sills, floorboards, door jams and hinges, and every other part of ther body is completely FREE OF ANY RUST. The color is its original Forest green. My husband had the roof and the hood refinished about 3 years ago, and still looks great. The interior upholstery is clean, in very good condition considering it is a 14 year old vehicle. The leather seats have held up very well. My husband had the front driver's bottom reupholstered about 1 yr ago. The headliner is CLEAN, and not sagging. The factory carpets are SPOTLESS. The dash is PERFECT, with both Airbags functional, and NEVER deployed. All four Power windows, the Power locks, central locking, BOTH Power seats ( heated ), the Power Mirrors and Cruise Control work fine. The A/C blows ICE COLD. The original Premium Stereo systm sounds great, as well as the rear-mounted CD changer. The electric sliding sunroof works well ( up and down, and all the way back), and does NOT leak water into the car. ALL the wipers ( with adjustable wiper delay) including the rear one work fine. Recently replaced rear hatch struts. The secondary accessories such as light-dimming rearview mirror, rear electric defroster, seat heaters, interior light, dash lights, horn, odometer. speedometer ( accurate to the mile), water temperature and all gauges work. NO ABS, AIRBAG, Brake Warning or any other light on, other than the Parking brake warning light, which goes off when you take off the brake. Overall, this is a really neat, old-style Classic Range Rover, fun and a great traveller or grocery getter. NON SMOKER ALWAYS! ( both of us). That being said, please realize that this is NOT a brand-new $90K Range Rover Sport! It is a strong running Classic County, that is 14 years old. It has a CLEAR California title, with NO Liens or issues. We paid the California registration until May of 2010, and was recently Smog Certified. We are also still maintaining full-coverage insurance on it. Most service has been performed by Auto Solutions of San Carlos. We have the owner's manuals, full-size spare and complete jack set with it as well. If you are local, you are certainly welcome come and view it, and you will need to make arrangements with my husband. We are NOT running a car dealership lot. PLEASE, be considerate of your time as well as ours ( NO dreamers, hagglers, trades, dealers or tire-kickers!). If you are looking for a cheap one ( along with the incurring problems), this will not be it and there are others out there that may suit your needs better. This Rover is priced fairly according to its condition, mileage and its full Safari package. We will consider an offer if you do not need the Safari cargo rack. $5900 or B/O.
