Engine: Volga 24 with Volga 24-10 block, straight 4 cylinder, 2.4 L, electronic distributor, less than 100 miles since complete engine rebuild (new hoses, belts, water pump, fuel pump, gaskets, pistons, sleeves, rings, bearings, spark plugs, radiator, etc...) Drive Chain: Replaced original transmission (4 speed: 3 forward, 1 reverse) and axles with Hungarian Military transmission and transfer case (5 speed: 4 forward, 1 reverse) and axles (similar to the Spidertrax Spider 9 off-road axles (extra thick housing, and heavy duty gears and bearings) with flattened gear housing for added clearance) and installed selectable hubs on axle. Tires: Chunky off-road tires have 95% tread left Brakes and Clutch: Less than 10 miles since replacement of clutch, brake shoes, and replacement of o-rings and seals. Handbrake operates a drive chain drum brake, which locks the rear axle. Transfer case has 4 speeds in High range (same in 2 Hi and 4 Hi), and 4 in Low range(only in 4 Lo). for a total of 8 forward speeds, and 2 reverse. 4 wheel Hi can be engaged in motion without change in speed. However, for 4 wheel Lo, driver must come to a complete stop. Brought from Kazakhstan in 2000, and has been kept on bricks and under tarps for the past 9 years. Replaced battery this summer and it started right up and runs great! Starts up quick, idles fine, and engine cools well, even in city driving conditions. General body condition is good considering vehicle year, needs some paint and body work, and a new canvas top (easy to copy existing pattern), but other than that, in great condition. Selling AS IS.
