Excellent candidate for full restoration. Chevy trucks were voted best in the 40's to late 50's because of their design and quality . Dark green was the standard exterior paint color prior to 1955. Was stored every winter. Originally from California. I bought it up in Exeter NH a few years ago. Somewhere along its life, they put in a Ford Mustang V8 engine("78 I think), and added some dials to the interior that could be removed, I never bothered. Interior could use work, not bad, but door handle needs to be fixed, etc. They took out the stick shift. It has dual exhaust - rides like a real truck! No power steering. Wipers work great, as well as the heater. New 12 V battery last year. Has some small rust spots, and paint has chipped here and there. I put in new king pins last spring, as well as had the hood and roof totally redone. This truck in its past was used as a work horse. This is no cream puff. It is hard to find the 1/2, 3/4, or 1 ton trucks with frames in great shape because they were used for hard labor. Prior owners used it to tow their boat to the dock, another used it to work on his small farm. I bought it because I love the style and history of these trucks, and used it for hay pick ups, and local errands. Santa even visited Stoughton in it one year...... Can send more photos if you like.
