1992 Volvo 940 GL, 2.3 liter four cylinder engine, automatic transmission. Only 136k miles.
We've owned this Volvo for the last eight years. Just got a newer Volvo unexpectedly. We have always maintained the car. We have complete records/receipts. It runs and drives in top condition.
Just had new steering lines installed and new fuel filter put in. All new brakes and rotors were put on and a new Innerstate battery was installed less than 1000 miles ago. Last year, we replaced the ENTIRE exhaust system. These things alone are about $2000 worth of maintenance. It also has a complete set of premium winter tires (four Nokian Hakkapeliitta RSi, $800).
The car is maroon metallic with charcoal leather, and the condition is excellent. I just had it professionally detailed and it's nice and clean.
Power sunroof, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, cruise control, air conditioning. Air bag. Anti-lock brakes.
We've had Volvos forever and the 940 is an outstanding car. It's a 240 Volvo only better-- same bulletproof engine and transmission, without the 240 body that rusts away, SAFER, and with the side impact protection system, and with a locking differential, and a much smoother ride. And the 940 is the last of the Volvos with the 2.3 liter four cylinder bulletproof engines. And the last of the basic simple Volvos, without all the computers and electronics. And we still get 30 miles per gallon highway. If we hadn't gotten a newer Volvo, we would drive this one for years and years and years to come.
