The extended versions are very rare. I spent 2 years looking for this one. When I found it in St Louis, Missouri it was in primer. I put new fenders on it and had it painted Dodge Viper Red. When I bought it a previous owner had taken a 1978 Pontiac Firebird and used the rear end and front end running gear, thus it has power steering, front disc brakes, and rear drum brakes. The steering column and wheel, bucket seats and power brake unit was also used. The engine is a 307 Olds with a 3 speed automatic transmission from a 1985. The electrical system was also changed to 12 volt with a Painless wiring harness installed. I finished the truck by adding electric windshield wipers, Vintage Air combination heat/air conditioning, gauges, AMFM CD, and tack. I replaced all rubber windshield, door and hood weather seals. I built a center console with floor shifter and drink holders. The running boards were in poor shape so I made wood ones and added the wood paneling on the sides. This is a great area to put advertising etc. I finished off the interior with red and black seat covers, black carpeting, wood paneling with black vinyl accents. I added after market headlights and insulated the interior with noise suppressing material. I added a custom made dual exhaust system with flow mufflers. The wheels are Cragers with the rears wider than the fronts. I have owned the truck since 2004 and have put about 1200 miles on it. I love driving it on the Thruway, all the traffic slows to what ever speed I’m going to gaze at the truck. The speedometer works and the truck travels well at 65 MPH.
