It was restored professionally here in Murray, and without regard for cost, under my Grandfather's supervision in about 1990. The final cost was about $34,000, as I recall. The restoration process completely took the old car down to nuts, bolts and every part laid out on the floor. All pieces that were rusted or not repairable were replaced as it was reassembled. The original metal body was too rusted to be fixed, so my Grandfather decided to go with the "woody" -jitney body, which is an authentic design from that era. The original brass headlamps had been stolen, and were replaced with the black painted ones that are also an authentic era option. An electric starter was installed as a convenience, that was not available on the original. It runs, and has been driven a few miles, but the engine is stll so tight and new that it tends to overheat, especially when you idle with the clutch depressed. It is currently located in St. George as that was where he lived, but can easily be transported back to Salt Lake. Since my Grandfather has now passed away, the family and I are looking to sell to someone that will appreciate it as much as he did.
