This is not a kit car, but hand built in 2003 and manufactured like an Intermeccanica but modified in ways to make this beauty as close as to the real thing as possible with attention to detail. These cars are seldom found for sale. Built on a tubular frame. The paint is OEM Glasurit Urethane 356 D Porsche Ruby Red "5702" with correct matching tan leather interior. The body is straight and crack free. This is not a Speedster, it is a replica of a 1959 Porsche 356 D Convertible. This is a near perfect clone and has also been used in Hollywood T.V. movies. Replacement cost with options and real 356 parts used is approximately $80,000 to $85,000. DRIVETRAIN: Disc brakes in the front and drums in the rear. The engine is a GEX 2200cc with 180hp with lumpy cams. The transmission is a modified 4spd to match up. Breakerless high performance ignition for reliable everyday driving. Twin Delorto carbs. The exhaust is stock and has a nice sporty sound (not loud or beetle sounding) 356-shifter/-heater knob housing. External full flow oil cooler with automatic temperature controlled electric cooling fan. Tires are new Yokohama’s 195/60/15 with original look Drumskinz hub caps. New shocks front and rear. Original 356 hand brake located under the dash, and not the VW style between the seats. EXTERIOR TRIMS: Original windshield (no chips), roll up side window glass (spare set included). Windows seal nicely. Porsche and Drauz badges. Classic 356 vintage front fog lights. Rear 356 vintage rally badges for correct years, vintage interior/exterior temp gauge (stuck on dash by grab handle and removable). Options for in 1959 were an added radio and ashtray. German Hartz Stayfast convertible top with perfectly clear rear window. Tonneau cover for top when down. Luggage rack with straps included. INTERIOR TRIMS: OS 356 gauges, dash knobs (not plastic). Factory clock (not installed.) Factory fog light switch with built in red light. Correct vintage wiper squirters and washer bag. (electric washer pump installed for use) Interior is German weave carpet, real leather door panels, dash and seats with NOS vintage lap belts. Twin rear grill lid deck. 356 turn signal switch. 356 Steering wheel. The ignition switch is from a 1959 with the keys stamped "PORSCHE" and same for door locks.
