Studebaker Avanti Avanti is Italian for "advance" and Advanti led the way with disc breaks and aerodynamic styling. Unfortunately Studebaker did not have enough capital to support it. Production was under 5,000 and they were still making production changes when Studebaker stopped production and closed the plant at South Bend, Indiana. Studebaker dropped the Avanti, the Gran Turismo Hawk and most trucks in favor of sedans, coupes and station wagons. | ||
