Isuzu History: The Isuzu name was adopted by the Ishikawajima Automotive Works in 1949 and was integrated into the General Motors lineup in 1971. The Chevrolet LUV truck was the first American built Isuzu, followed by the GM Gemini, Colorado, Rodeo, Trooper and Axiom, and the GMC Envoy.
The Isuzu car line ended in 2006 with the Ascender SUV and they now primarily produces small trucks and delivery vans.
