Ford History: Henry Ford founded the Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan, in June of 1903 and produced the first Model T Ford truck in 1917. The company started in a converted wagon factory and by 1960 was one of the 'Big Three' (along with General Motors and Chrysler), dominating the American market.
Ford is said to have started the industrial revolution by using the assembly line method of production, which delivered materials to workers by conveyors, on a large scale to produce one car every minute. As a result, efficiency and quality were improved, costs were reduced and worker skills became less important. Ford cars and trucks were popular during the Antique Car Era, Vintage Car Era and Classic Car Era.
