The Classic Car Era began in 1947 following World War II. Classic car production was driven by consumer demand for bigger and faster cars with more accessories. Hot rods came about when back-yard mechanics discovered how much fun it was to customize discarded Model T Fords. Hot rods are custom built vehicles with high performance engines and unique drivetrains and suspension systems. When you remove the top from a hot rod you have a 'roadster'. - More
