Nissan Logo The Nissan Motor Company was founded in 1914 as the Kwaishinsha Motorcar Works. In 1918 Nissan became the Kwaishinsha Motorcar Company. In 1925 the name was changed to the DAT Motorcar Company. In 1926 DAT merged with the Osaka-based Jitsuyo Jidosha Company. And in 1934 the company became the Nissan Motor Company. Nissan built trucks under the Datsun name from 1955 to 1984 and current Nissan trucks include the D21 'Hard Body' and 'Pathfinder', 'Frontier' and 'Titan'. |
