Mercedes-Benz Logo After WW II Mercedes-Benz produced their first trucks for Argentina. One of the most popular and versatile Mercedes-Benz trucks is the Econic and the chassis is commonly used for fire and emergency and waste collection vehicles. Mercedes- Benz has been producing vehicles longer than any other company in the world. The company was started in 1926 when Karl Benz joined forces with Gottlieb Daimler. Benz is credited with building the first internal combustion engine in 1885. In 1958 Daimler-Benz sold the rights to sell their vehicles in the United States to the Studebaker-Packard Corporation and when Studebaker shut down in 1966 the Studebaker dealers had the choice to close or become Mercedes-Benz dealers. In 1998 Daimler-Benz joined Chrysler and became Daimler-Chrysler. |
