Pontiac Logo The GMs first Pontiac had a six-cylinder engine and was priced for average buyers. Its logo was a native American headdress but in 1956 it was replaced by the Pontiac arrowhead logo. The Pontiac Bonneville was introduced in 1957 as a performance car and Wide-Track suspension was added in 1959. The Pontiac GTO, with a 389 V-8, was designed by John DeLorean and introduced in 1964. It was among the first medium sized cars with a V8 engine and became a key player in the Muscle Car era. |
