MG Logo The first MGs were simple Morris-made cars with different body parts. They started about 1924 and by 1928 there were enough requests to warrant a reorganization and become the M.G. Car Company. In 1952 MG became a part of the British Motor Corporation, which in 1968 became British Leyland. British Leyland eventually joined the British Rover Group but they went broke 2005, which was the last year of MG production. That same year Nanjing Automobile, a Chinese car maker, bought MG Rover and in 2007 sold it to the Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation. |
