The Ford Motor Company was started in 1903 by Henry Ford in Dearborn, Michigan. The first Model T Ford truck came out in 1917 and Ford was one of the "Big Three" by 1960 (along with GM and Chrysler).

Ford is give credit for creating the modern assembly line system for building vehicles and it allowed him to make his vehicle more affordable and consistent than other manufacturers.
