Being offered for sale is this recreation of an original 1936 Mercedes-Benz 500K hand built by The Classic Factory in Pomona, California to very closely resemble the legendary pre-war 500K supercar. Sensation of the 1934 Berlin Auto Show, Mercedes Benz's 500K represented the very pinnacle of styling and design excellence. This Mercedes-Benz 500K Replica example, finished in beautiful red with tan leather interior and tan top, has very low mileage, only two owners and is sure to turn heads wherever it is driven. Details:
• Exterior: The body is hand laminated fiberglass, reinforced with a heavy steel birdcage and mounted on a reinforced 1969 Ford LTD chassis. It is finished in beautiful Red acrylic lacquer paint without any blemishes, scratches, dents, or cosmetic problems. All body panels, seams and gaps are uniform and laser straight. It has always been covered and kept in a climate controlled garage. Titled as year 2000 "Special Construction".
• Interior: The interior features a custom wood-rimmed steering wheel, custom dash and instrumentation. The supple leather bench seating with arm rest, door panels, kick panels and plush carpet are in excellent condition with no signs of wear. The Convertible top is tan fabric with a glass rear window; again in remarkable condition. All of the instruments, lighting and convenience items to include: AM/FM Stereo, Air Conditioning, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Tilt Steering Wheel, etc. are fully functional, as you would expect in such a fine contemporary automobile.
• Engine and Driveline: Power is by a rebuilt Ford 302 cu. in. small block with an Edelbrock four barrel carburetor and aluminum intake manifold. Backing the engine is a Ford C6 automatic transmission. Other features include power brakes (disc front and drum rear), coil spring suspension front and rear, 121" wheelbase with a 17' overall length. NEW 23 gallon gas tank and 2 1/2" exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers producing a really great sound.
• Wheels and Tires: Custom Wire wheels with Mercedes hub caps and wide whitewall radial tires.
