1975 Bricklin Gull-Wing Malcolm Bricklin, the founder of Subaru of America, built the Bricklin SV-1 in Saint John, Canada, from 1974 to 1975. Herb Grasse designed the car but Bricklin did not have the wherewithal to make a profit and only 2,854 cars were built before the company went went broke. Bricklin's goal was to build a safe sports car but all the safety devices made the car too heavy and never sold well. It is the only production car ever made with power gull-wing doors. |
