1919 Brckway American Lafrance

Hazardville , CT’s first fire engine. In excellent condition. Has solid hard rubber tires, nickel plated Champion chemical tank, and almost all original equipment as delivered. Clear title and copy of original build order. Have complete provenence 1919 Brockway American LaFrance Triple Combination Pumping Car, former of vehicle.

This truck was once owned by Rebekah Harkness, the heir to the Standard Oil Company fortune and founder of the Harkness Ballet Company and is noted in her biography “Blue Blood”. Used as her personal vehicle and housed in her mansion. Later presented as a gift to the Sparkill, NY Fire Department shortly before to her death.

Truck has been housed and displayed in fire museums since leaving Sparkill, NY. It is small enough to be stored in a standard garage. Absolutely no rust or corrosion on truck. Motor runs without smoke. I hazard to guess that vehicle has less than 4000 miles on it. Study original delivery photo against present photo to get idea of excellent present condition and presence of original lights and accouterments.
