    Description

You are looking at a 1954 International R-132 1 Ton Dump. The truck is partially restored and was purchased a couple of years ago with the intent to complete. Odometer reads 53101, and although I think that the mileage is relatively accurate speedometer/odometer does not work. Engine, transmission, etc all appear to be original. Vehicle Identification # is R1327229, Unladen Weight = 3,000, GVWR = 11,000. The truck starts, runs and drives well. I believe the carburetor may soon need a re-build and choke is not connected. As you can see from the photographs the dump does work! I’ve only used the truck on my property. Circumstances have changed and I don’t know that I will ever complete it, so I am looking for someone with the passion to finish. This is a very rare truck. I’ve looked at many on-line listings and have only found a few others similar to it. Half ton pick-up’s are common place and there are some ¾ and 1 ton pick-ups but 1 ton dumps are hard to find. If you are looking for a good project that you can finish and take to a cruise in or show and see nothing else like it, this is it! The truck has been garage kept since purchase and I believe it was at least “barn kept” previously.

According to the person I purchased it from, the battery was new and a new starter was put in 7-1-08. I was also told that the door bottoms were welded on, not pop riveted or puttied. I purchased and will include an Operators Manual for R-130, R-131 and R-132 Trucks, a Service Manual and a Parts Catalog for a number of International Trucks including the one you see here. These are complete re-prints of the originals, so if there is anything you need to know it’s probably in there.

It appears that the cab was removed from the frame for restoration. When I purchased it none of the lights were working. Now all but the roof clearance and turn signals are operational. It appears that those just need to be re-hooked. All are the tires have decent tread however they are but dry rotted and cracking and will probably need to be replaced. There is no front bumper. A used front windshield has been installed with a new rubber seal. I was told that the dump body was reconstructed by a previous owner and it is in good shape. The bed floor is treated deck boarding There is no tailgate but the tailgate hardware is included. I have roof metal that the sun visors hook onto, have the gas pedal, extra hood bar that holds hood up, 1 sun visor (they only had one), the floor plate that covers the hole by the clutch and brake, have windshield wipers, the International chrome emblems for the front fenders, 2 heater tunnel tubes, plate that goes around shifter that bolts on the floor inside, both door handles, both window cranks, 2 rubber pads for clutch and brake pedal, one door key lock (there was only 1 on the passenger side), running boards, but they are in rough condition and could be repaired or used for templates for new ones.

A class three hitch has been installed on the truck and is included.
Truck is solid no rust holes, not rusted through anywhere, 1 little spot on hood needs finished and hood needs painted. The truck frame is very solid as well. Truck cab and grill were repainted but there are some scratches, etc. that can be seen in the photographs. Seat covering is worn through, but seat structure is in good shape. Two new rear windows and seals were installed however one has a small crack that occurred on installation. There is no weather stripping for around doors, hood or cowl vent but I’ve seen these items available on E-bay for reasonable prices, as well as the door panels, which are also missing.
After purchase I found that the truck had a 12 volt battery but still had a 6 volt system. The 6 volt generator was not working, so I replaced it with a 12 volt alternator. I have and am including all of the 6 volt parts that were removed, so you can decide to complete the 12 volt conversion or revert to 6 volt. Also included are a couple of 12 volt windshield wiper motors and wiper arms so you can convert the stock vacuum to electric 12 volt if you desire.

I have more pictures available.

I may be able to arrange shipping if desired.

I would be glad to try and answer any other questions you might have so don’t hesitate to ask.
