Description
1962 Studebaker GT Hawk, 289-4brl carb, 4 spd Flightomatic (auto) trans. Power steering, drum brakes. Original Carter WCFB 4 brl carb rebuilt. McClean 15 inch chrome spoked wheels. Twin under seats heaters. New brake master cylinder, Odometer reading 105k original miles on car.Approx 10k to 12k miles on rebuilt engine. There are not many of them left in this excellant of condition. My dad purchased this beauty about 7 to 8 years ago from a Studebaker collector. I believe living in Sumner Wa area. After seeing this mans car collection, my dad told him if he ever decided to sell this car, to please contact him. Approx 20 years later the gentleman contacted my dad telling him he was ready to sell this car. My dad purchased the car. The only current problem with the car after the purchase was that when started 1st thing in the morning cold, it would let out a small puff of blue smoke than clear up immediately following. I've been a mechanic by trade for appox 28 years now. The blue puff of smoke on 1st start up problem was obvious to me, 52 year old car = hardened valve stem seals. My dad was a perfectionist when it came to his vehicles, he told me, let's just completely rebuild the engine. I tore down the 289 completely, had it bored .030 over std, put new pistons, rings, rod, main and cam bearings in. I reground the intake and exhaust valves and the cylinder head valve seats on both heads, new waterpump, thermostat, gaskets and seals etc. This car has always been covered and dry stored it's entire life as far as I've heard. My sister was willed this car when our dad passed away approx 6 years ago. She has only driven it a handfull of times. She needs money to pay bills and get out of dept. If I had the money, I'd gladly buy it and keep it myself, but I'm currently not able to afford it. This car turns heads every where it goes. If interested please call
