Attention Studebaker Enthusiasts and Collectors: Here is a Frame-off, 100% factory original restoration of a "dry" Montana classic 1962 Studebaker "Gran Turismo" Hawk 2-Door Hardtop Coupe. This restoration is as close to a #1 condition car as possible given the fact that the owner chooses to drive it rather than trailer the car to shows and parades. It has won Best of Class, Best of Show and People's Choice awards at every show the car has been entered. It truly is a masterpiece of Studebaker engineering and performance. The Studebaker Hawk is one of the most distinctive examples of American car design ever produced in the United States!
Details: Purchased new in Helena, MT from an estate of the original owners and was stored inside a heated garage for a period of time after the owners passed away. Professionally restored by a Studebaker restoration specialist with the completion in 2007. No expense was spared in this frame-off restoration and the finished product certainly shows the dollar investment of $50,000.
Driven in parades and car shows, it has less than 500 miles since completion of the restoration. The complete restoration process is fully documented by a complete set of receipts and over 60 photographs. The brilliant Black Velvet base/clear coat paint is gorgeous and complements a NEW original color, striking Red vinyl interior. The 289 cu. in. Studebaker/Packard V8 engine has power to spare and shifts smoothly with the Borg-Warner Flight-O-Matic transmission. Highly detailed, show quality engine bay. All chrome pieces professionally replated including gold insert in the grill center. All stainless moldings trued and polished. Undercarriage and frame refinished with original paint colors is as nice as the exterior body. Complete set of 5 NEW, original white wall tires with radial construction. Complete set of 5 NOS, original Studebaker factory wire wheel covers. Full, original instrumentation.
