Second owner in original family (my sister’s car) bought new from Sheehy Ford/Mercury in Springfield, PA in 1987. Non-smoking vehicle, ash trays are as new. Driven daily until 2002 and occasionally since 2006 (2 drivers, 4 cars).
A 26 year old classic…easy restoration or low mileage driver.
56,370 original miles; Brand new inspections (PA State Mechanical and Emissions on 15 January; 1/14 stickers); 4 new tires ($500); Fresh oil change and filter; new battery; 3.8 L V6, 3 speed auto with overdrive; rear wheel drive; Oil/filter changed every 5,000 miles or less; 6-way, motorized, adjustable driver’s seat; Power windows; power door locks; remote gas door release; remote trunk release; Full digital dash display with trip computer; Cruise control and speed warning; Original owner’s manuals and Haynes Repair Guide; All original equipment including optional wire basket wheel covers (with original lock tool); Original spare and jack still stowed in trunk; Never in accident or hit; no body work; no rust through. Original paint.
For accuracy: A/C system runs but had leak, probably from sitting; needs O-ring, pressure test and recharging. Three pounds of Freon 12 come with sale. Transmission Pointer in dashboard “off” by 2 positions. Not really needed. Some deterioration of headliner near driver’s visor and rearview mirror (fingernails and jewelry wear). A few minor “parking lot” dings on body.
This car "parts out" at double the asking price but it runs like new, so...
