Lozier History: Henry Lozier first built boat engines and then founded the Lozier Motor Company in 1900. The Lozier was built during the Antique Car Era and the 1910 was one of the most expensive cars made at the time. The Lozier was a popular race car in 1912 but the high-end market was limited and only a few thousand were ever produced. In 1913 Frederick Chandler left Lozier as his chief designer to open his own company and make a similar but more affordable car. Lozier tried to adjust by making his cars more affordable but ran out of money and declared bankruptcy in 1915.
