The 1946 Lincoln Continental Convertible Cabriolet was the height of class and prestige in its day, and still qualifies as a design bench mark even today. It was conceived by Edsel Ford and Ford`s chief designer, Bob Gregorie. This handmade Cabriolet was only for the very wealthy and status conscious connoisseurs of the day. In 1946 only 201 Cabriolet Convertibles were built. They are now recognized by the Classic Car club of America as a full classic.
This rust free Cabriolet underwent a complete frame off, nut and bolt restoration done by the renounced restorer, Ruble Shields. It now only has 3 miles since a truly museum quality restoration. The car is restored back completely original with the 292 C.I V12 engine, synchromesh 3 speed transmission and correct differentials, features include hydraulic power top and windows, front and rear bumper guards, Continental spare tire, carpeted trunks, fender skirts and rear fender rock guards, heater/ defrost, whitewall tires, AM radio with fender antenna, fog lamps, cowl vent, dual out- side door mirrors, dash clock, new NOS steering wheel with matching knobs, and too much more to list here.
