This is our favorite type of car here at Blue Marlin Motors. This 1966 Mustang is a true survivor, and will turn heads as she sits, or could become the perfect candidate for your next restoration!
The 1966 model year was a banner year for the Mustang. Ford produced the one millionth car in the 1966 model year, and it’s no wonder – they produced 607,568 total Mustangs that year. Despite the large production, there are very few Mustangs left like this one here. This car is a true survivor in every sense of the word. This car has never been restored. Even the paint is original on every panel.
The original orange finish cleans up well. It is not perfect, but you could easily take this car to your local cruise in night and get dozens of stares and compliments. For what it is, this particular Mustang might be the best example of its kind.
The car has no rust. The underside is clean and solid, as can be seen in the photos. The body panels are all straight, and the doors, hood, and trunk open and close with ease and line up well. The engine, a 200 cubic inch inline 6 cylinder, is original to the car and runs well. The car idles smoothly and shifts easily. This car even has factory air, but as you can see in the photos, the compressor is not hooked up. It spins freely.
This Mustang has documentation with it as well, including the original protect-o-plate, which you can see in the photos. This was a well-cared for car that saw fortunate owners throughout its entire life.
Will you be the next? Come on down to Blue Marlin Motors and drive this charming pony today!
