1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396
Think "Sixties automotive icon" and the 1969 Chevelle SS 396 springs immediately to mind. Being offered for sale is a well documented, low mileage, original 396/325 hp, 4-speed, un-molested, un-restored, all matching numbers, survivor. This "time capsule" was sold new in California and spent its life there until it was brought to the Northwest 10 years ago and stored in a climate controlled environment. The current owner has the original Protect-o-Plate, build sheet, some service history, and even the black and yellow California plates that came off the car!
• Exterior: There are absolutely NO rust issues in the body or in the frame of this Chevelle. It does not appear to have suffered any major damage due to an accident. The 41,000 miles on the odometer appears to be original and this Chevelle retains all of its original sheet metal. The Tuxedo Black exterior finish has had one repaint in single stage paint for the correct "sheen" sometime earlier in its lifetime. You must consider that this car is NOT restored and does have a few scratches in the finish here and there along with an occasional door ding as well, all lending to its authenticity!
• Interior: The original factory Medium Red Vinyl interior on this Chevelle SS is amazing! The entire interior is remarkable in its un-restored state. All upholstery, dash pad, door panels – even the carpet is in very nice condition for the age of the car. The only alteration noted is aftermarket speakers were added to the rear package tray and the package tray shows some wear. However, there NO damage to the underside of the package tray due to cutting. At one time this car had an aftermarket air conditioning system installed but it has been removed. Features include fully operable factory AM/FM radio, tachometer, power steering, power brakes, "SS" gauge package, clock, and Strato bucket seats with center console.
• Engine and Driveline: The engine is the original "JK" Suffix Code 396 CID/325 HP big block. The entire drive train is original and matching numbers, with the original shifter, power front disc brakes, and power steering. The differential is a factory correct Open Carrier Non-POSI unit with a 3.31 gear set as specified on the Build Sheet. Has a replacement exhaust system from the manifolds back.
• Wheels & Tires: Replacement Redline bias ply tires with the factory original and correct "YA" code wheels.
